Law Rocks World Tour resumes in DC where seven bands of legal professionalswill rock the 9:30 Club for local nonprofits of their choosing.

Law Rocks, the nonprofit organization that produces a global tour of fundraising concerts starring legal professionals, returns to the DMV area for the Eighth Annual Law Rocks Washington DC on Thursday, September 28, 2023. The event kicks off the fall leg of the 2023 tour which will round out a year of record-breaking shows across the US.Each of the seven bands features musically talented members of the DMV legal community. The 2023 lineup includes four veteran bands, including two former champions, as well as three brand new to Law Rocks, with 17 firms represented. The event will once again take place at the acclaimed 9:30 Club.Made possible by tour sponsor Secretariat, as well as Hall of Fame sponsor, Venable, the event has raised over $86,000 so far, with funds growing daily. Additional sponsors include AT&T; Crowell & Moring; Interactive Brokers; Somos; Stoneturn; Verizon; Walsh, Colucci, Lubeley & Walsh; Wiley Rein; Wilkinson Barker Knauer; and Willkie Farr & Gallagher.Three factors will determine the winning band: total raised in donations; sponsorships and ticket sales; and Rock Panel of Judges score. There will also be special recognition for the band with the highest marks from the Rock Panel of Judges. The Rock Panel includes Eric Liley, a seasoned marketing and communications executive with a breadth of experience in entertainment and media, and the Executive Director and CEO for music education nonprofit, The MusicianShip; Evan Moses, a trademark lawyer, the founder of the local community concert series “Live in Rose Park,” and most notably, a four-time Law Rocks veteran and former Judge’s Choice award winner with his band Rock Creek Kings; and Stacy Puente, a musician, singer/songwriter, and front person for several DC area rock bands, including three-year Law Rocks veteran G.O.A.T. Rodeo. The event will be hosted by Lisa Berigan, a trusted voice in Washington, D.C. for years, whose passion for music and the DMV region are evident during every show on BIG 100, Washington’s Classic Rock.Each participating band will be rocking and fundraising for a local nonprofit of their choosing. This year’s selected organizations include Gifts for the Homeless, Guitars 4 Vets, Horton’s Kids, I.M.P. Family Fund, Miriam’s Kitchen, and Together We Bake.Law Rocks will also be awarding the first Washington DC recipient of the new Music Matters grant as part of their 2023 initiative to increase giving in support of music education, particularly for underserved youth. The first Washington DC recipient of the Music Matters grant is The MusicianShip – a youth development organization that offers a wide range of free music education programs geared towards enriching the lives of students, their communities, and emerging musicians in the Washington metropolitan region.The September 28 concert features legal professionals from The Authors Guild; Crowell & Moring; Department of Justice; Federal Communications Commission; Gordon Rees; Interactive Brokers; McGuire Woods; Meta; Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia; Somos; Steptoe; USTelecom; Venable; Verizon; Walsh, Colucci, Lubeley, & Walsh; Willkie Farr & Gallagher; and Wireless Infrastructure Association.
