NEW ORLEANS, LA—The International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) has named Mark R. Beebe, a partner at Adams and Reese LLP New Orleans, Louisiana, as President-Elect for 2021-22. The appointment was announced at the IADC’s 2021 Annual Meeting. The IADC is the preeminent invitation-only global legal organization for attorneys who represent corporate and insurance interests. Adams and Reese LLP has a long history of leadership and participation in the IADC, with three attorneys previously serving as IADC president: founding partner Ford Reese (1969-70), Henry “Bernie” Alsobrook (1986-87), and Eddie Rice, Jr. (1995-96).
A member of the IADC since 2002 and current IADC Ambassador, Mr. Beebe has served with the organization’s board as liaison for regional meetings, and as a member of the Think IADC First initiative, Under-45 Task Force, and several IADC committees, including Social Justice Pro Bono, Medical Defense and Health Law, and Class Actions and Multi-Party Litigation. In addition, he has served on the organization’s Nominating, Membership, and Centennial committees. In 2011, he was a faculty member of the IADC’s Trial Academy. As a member of the IADC Foundation Board from 2013 to 2019, he held the positions of Vice President and Secretary-Treasurer. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Beebe revamped the IADC’s regional meetings to a virtual format to advance the organization’s goal of delivering added value to members.
In his litigation practice, Mr. Beebe counsels clients in a variety of business and commercial matters, including antitrust, trade secret protection, securities litigation, officers and directors’ duties and responsibilities, corporate governance, contractual interpretation and enforcement, warranty obligations, banking, and intellectual property matters.
