PHOENIX, AZ—Jennings Haug Cunningham (JHC) is pleased to announce that James L. Ugalde has joined the firm as a partner with the firm’s Banking, Financial Services and Creditors’ Rights practice. He previously practiced at JHC early in his career from 2004-2006 as an associate.
Mr. Ugalde provides various legal services to banks, other lenders, lessors, secured creditors and investors with respect to the perfection and enforcement of their rights under security documents and the Uniform Commercial Code, including asset-based financing and leasing. He represents creditors in matters involving debt collection and the foreclosure of security interests under state law and provides representation in Chapters 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcy cases. Mr. Ugalde is also experienced in advising commercial landlords regarding their contractual and statutory rights, including enforcing such rights through eviction actions and lockouts. Although he is a seasoned and successful litigator, Mr. Ugalde also has a transactional law practice, primarily relating to work-outs of defaulted leases and loans.
