KoonsFuller Managing Shareholder and CEO Ike Vanden Eykel announced that to commemorate the firm’s first 40 years of success, KoonsFuller has formed a charitable foundation called the KoonsFuller Family Law Foundation.
The Foundation builds on a 40-year platform of giving back through volunteerism, advocacy, pro bono and financial support of charities that serve Dallas, Denton, Houston, Plano and Southlake-Fort Worth. Vanden Eykel says, “We have established the KoonsFuller Family Law Foundation because we work with families, so we have a passion for serving families. We want to invest in the communities throughout Texas where our attorneys and clients live and work.”
Through the KoonsFuller Family Law Foundation, the firm will support non-profit charities that serve the diverse North Texas region and the Houston area in the following areas: arts and culture, education, family violence, children, health and legal aid.
“In 2018,” Houston Managing Shareholder Sherri Evans says, “the Foundation will award $200,000 in charitable grants. We are 40 years old and have five offices – 40 x 5 is 200. That is the magic behind our $200,000 first-year commitment.”
The mission of the KoonsFuller Family Law Foundation is: We believe in the dignity and personal growth of all people in our Texas communities. KoonsFuller supports charitable and civic organizations that serve, nurture, lift-up, inform and educate individuals and families so they have additional and better opportunities to pay it forward and contribute to others.
The KoonsFuller Family Law Foundation will work with The Dallas Foundation to solicit applications from potential charitable grantees in North Texas and Houston through its online grant application process. The KoonsFuller Family Law Foundation will have a panel of five judges who will review the applications, with the winners being selected in late October. Winners will be formally announced at two 40th anniversary celebration events held in Dallas on November 2 and in Houston on November 4.
Charities that serve North Texas and the Houston area are invited to complete the online Grant Application. The deadline for grant submissions is August 31, 2018.
The KoonsFuller Family Law Foundation will continue to thrive in future years as the firm moves into its next decade of service to its clients and communities.
