RALEIGH—Lawrence Cameron, a seasoned former federal prosecutor and trial lawyer with a broad range of litigation experience in the Raleigh region, has joined McGuireWoods’ Government Investigations and White Collar Litigation practice in the firm’s Raleigh office.
Lawrence served as an assistant U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina, investigating money laundering, narcotics trafficking and public corruption cases. He also led investigations and prosecutions of health care professionals for health care fraud and violations of narcotics laws.
Previously, he gained significant trial experience as an assistant district attorney in Wake County, where he was lead counsel in more than a dozen jury trials and over 100 bench trials.
Lawrence is a 2007 graduate of Hampton University and earned his JD, with honors, from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 2010. In law school, he received the Gressman-Pollitt Award for Outstanding Oral Advocacy, best oral argument, and was a member of the Civil Rights Appellate Advocacy moot court team.
