Meaghan Boyd, partner in Alston & Bird’s Environment, Land Use & Natural Resources Group, has been named a 2018 “Rising Star” by the Daily Report as part of its annual Professional Excellence Awards honoring the achievements of the Georgia legal community.
The Daily Report’s “On the Rise” recognizes outstanding attorneys age 40 and under who have made an impression on their colleagues, their clients, and the larger legal community. Winners are selected by the publication’s editorial staff.
In recognizing Boyd, the Daily Report noted her passion for solving complex environmental and toxic tort litigation and enforcement matters. In addition to regularly advising clients on solid and hazardous waste management, water and air quality, brownfields transactions, and land use matters, she was also highlighted for her work in helping companies respond to environmental crises through multifaceted strategies addressing litigation, regulatory, and business issues arising from chemical spills, explosions, and other significant environmental events.
Meaghan Boyd defends companies in complex environmental and toxic tort litigation in federal and state courts. She also routinely counsels clients on compliance and enforcement matters involving many federal environmental statutes, including CERCLA, the Clean Water Act, and RCRA, and their state counterparts, as well as hazardous materials transportation regulations.
Meaghan received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Georgia in 2005. She received her B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Georgia in 2001 and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
