MIAMI—National construction law firm Peckar & Abramson, P.C. (P&A) is pleased to announce that Neal I. Sklar, Partner in the firm’s Miami office and a Florida Bar Board Certified Construction Law specialist, has been named to the Board of Directors of the Latin Builders Association.
Of Cuban descent and bilingual in English and Spanish, Sklar’s practice is focused on the representation of general contractors, construction managers and infrastructure contractors in a variety of construction related matters. He provides counsel on state and federal government projects including transportation, commercial, heavy civil, social infrastructure, energy and multifamily residential projects along with Public-Private Partnership (P3) projects. He advises clients in matters involving the preparation and negotiation of construction contracts as well as the negotiation, mediation, arbitration and litigation of construction contract disputes, construction lien claims, construction-defect claims, design-defect claims, and bond and insurance claims. A substantial portion of Sklar’s practice involves providing on-site counsel and day-to-day guidance to clients on small, midsize and some of the most notable projects in Florida.
Board Certified in Construction Law, Sklar is a 2019 Best Lawyer in America® and a 2018 Super Lawyer® and has been so recognized since 2006 and 2005 respectively. He Sklar has also been recognized by Chambers USA, Florida Legal Elite and The Legal 500.
Sklar is admitted to practice in the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the United States District Court for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida. He holds a J.D. from Nova University Shepard Broad Law Center and a B.A. from the University of Miami.
