DALLAS, TX—Rick Jordan, a Dallas-based shareholder and co-chair of the Venture Capital and Emerging Growth Companies (VC/EGC) practice at Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli, has been selected as one of the first-ever honorees in the Legal Innovators category for Texas Lawyer Magazine’s 2020 Texas Legal Awards program.

The Texas Legal Awards is an annual program put on by Texas Lawyer that honors attorneys and judges who have made a remarkable difference in the legal profession in Texas. According to the publication, this year’s new Legal Innovators award category is designed to recognize attorneys and legal professionals who implemented a game-changing innovation for their practice or organization.

In 2019, Jordan and industry peer Richard Riccardi, a food company veteran and investor, co-founded a new initiative – the Greater Dallas Food & Beverage CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) community, recently re-branded as DFW CPG (www.dfwcpg.com) – to convene and bolster the regional food-and-beverage (F&B)/CPG sector.

Jordan also spearheaded planning efforts this year with Austin-based SKU, the nation’s first consumer products accelerator, to support the launch of the Dallas-Fort Worth region’s inaugural consumer products accelerator program over an 8-week period beginning this month. The new SKU DFW program, tailored toward later-stage startups in the F&B/CPG sector, offers best-in-class programming that covers a wide range of topics valuable to F&B/CPG entrepreneurs and is taught by some of the nation’s industry experts, including a kickoff presentation by former Whole Foods CEO Walter Robb.
