BOSTON, MA- Boston law firm Sherin and Lodgen LLP announces that Joshua M. Bowman, a partner in the firm’s Real Estate and Corporate Departments and Chair of the Hospitality Practice Group, spoke at the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly webinar, “Rent Payments and COVID-19: What Businesses Need to Know,” on Tuesday, April 20, 2021. The virtual event provided an overview of a recent Massachusetts state court ruling which held that a commercial tenant was not required to pay rent under its lease during the state’s COVID-19 government-ordered shutdown. Bowman and fellow panelists discussed the court’s decision and its implications for landlords and tenants going forward.
Bowman has extensive experience counseling local and national real estate owners and developers, institutional and non-institutional lenders, investors, tenants, contractors, and other businesses in connection with a wide variety of transactions and situations. He has particular expertise in dealing with complicated issues related to commercial real estate ownership, development, finance, joint venture arrangements, acquisitions and sales, leasing, land use, licensing, management and franchise agreements, construction agreements, and food and beverage agreements.
