MIAMI, FL—Six Litigation Associates have joined the U.S.-based law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in its Coral Gables (Miami) and Fort Lauderdale offices. Joining the Coral Gables office are Vicente Cortesi, Tim Odzer and Harrison St. Germain. Joining the Fort Lauderdale office are Christian Kohlsaat, Justin D. Paul and Jessica Turner.
Vicente Cortesi represents corporate clients in a wide range of insurance disputes and recently focused on first-party insurance litigation. His experience includes handling all aspects of first-party property, motor vehicle accident, premises liability, and other general liability cases. Prior to joining Hinshaw, Cortesi was an Associate Attorney at Vernis & Bowling in Miami where he defended Florida’s biggest insurers and other corporate clients.
Tim Odzer represents clients who offer commercial property and casualty insurance to businesses throughout Florida. He assists his clients in understanding their obligations to policyholders. During his clerkships, Odzer gained experience working on non-dispositive motions such as motions to compel and motions for leave to amend and dispositive motions such as motions for summary judgment and motions to dismiss.
Harrison St. Germain represents businesses and individuals in a diverse variety of insurance-related matters. Utilizing his experience of having represented plaintiffs and defendants in insurance disputes, St. Germain provides both insurance carriers and insureds with effective legal counsel to resolve their legal issues. Prior to joining Hinshaw, St. Germain was an Attorney at Roberts, Reynolds, Bedard & Tuzzio in West Palm Beach, where he represented both insurance companies and insureds in varied litigation matters.
Christian Kohlsaat focuses his practice on domestic and international commercial litigation. He represents clients in complex matters including business torts, professional negligence and class actions. Kohlsaat has represented a diverse client base ranging from national airlines to electronic scrap companies and real estate brokers. Prior to joining Hinshaw, Kohlsaat was an Associate Attorney at Santini Law in Miami where he gained substantial experience in the fields of commercial litigation and arbitration.
Justin D. Paul focuses his practice in construction law representing general contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers against liability claims and disputes. He also works with clients on a wide range of insurance services matters. Prior to joining Hinshaw, Paul practiced in all aspects of construction law and commercial litigation at Katz Barron Squitero Faust in Miami.
Jessica Turner is a labor and employment attorney who counsels employers on a broad range of employment matters including hiring, discipline, lay-offs, and compensation. Her practice includes representing employers in litigation matters, including the defense of claims arising under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act. Prior to joining Hinshaw, Turner was a Labor & Employment Associate at Cole, Scott & Kissane in Fort Lauderdale.
