GULFPORT, FL—Ellen S. Podgor, J.D., Gary R. Trombley family white-collar crime research professor at Stetson University College of Law, authored the official report, The Florida Bar Criminal Justice Summit Report: A First Step in Improving Florida’s Criminal Justice System, released by The Florida Bar in late June.

The report comes from an invitation-only summit held in October 2018 that brought together judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, policymakers and state legislators to discuss crucial issues involving Florida’s criminal justice system and to seek agreement on reform.

Podgor, as the official reporter, compiled, summarized and wrote The Florida Bar Criminal Justice Summit Report, which covers topics, such as, pretrial release, specialty courts and conviction integrity. Several Stetson Law students assisted with the project.
