IRVINE, CA—McGlinchey Stafford is pleased to announce that Robert J. Im has joined the firm’s Commercial Litigation and Consumer Financial Services team as an Associate.
Im is an experienced business litigator whose practice focuses on commercial and consumer financial services litigation. Im represents clients in a wide range of practice areas, including mortgage banking litigation, commercial and business contractual disputes, tort and negligence actions, corporate governace and partnership disutes, and labor and employment litigation. Additionally, he has extensive experience in construction litigation and represents owners, general contractors, and subcontractors in a wide range of disputes arising out of commercial construction and high-end, residential construction projects.
In addition to his commercial litigation experience, Im has considerable experience handling matters involving fraud, wrongful foreclosure, negligence, and breach of contract. He assists clients with contested foreclosures, real estate and title issues, and claims of federal and state regulatory violations. He also represents banks and financial institutions in disputes involving state and federal consumer protection and lending laws, and has experience defending claims arising under the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and California’s Rosenthal FDCPA. Licensed in California, Im holds a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law and a B.A. from the University of California, Irvine.
