SAN FRANCISCO, CA—Womble Bond Dickinson attorney Mark Tuft has been honored by the California Lawyers Association for his long-term work in advancing attorney professional standards in the state.
Tuft is the 2022 recipient of the Harry B. Sondheim Professional Responsibility Award. This honor originated with the California State Bar in 2010 and is currently awarded by the California Lawyers Association every three years.
A Partner in Womble Bond Dickinson’s San Francisco office, Tuft is certified as a legal malpractice specialist by the California State Bar and represents clients on matters involving professional responsibility and liability. He served on various California State Bar Commissions and Task Forces on revisions to the Rules of Professional Conduct and multi-disciplinary practice, including the State Bar’s Task Force on Access Through Innovation of Legal Services. He is a former chair and special advisor to the California State Bar Committee on Professional Responsibility and Conduct and is a former president of the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers.
He also has taught professional responsibility as an adjunct professor at the University of San Francisco School of Law. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Bar Association of San Francisco and formerly chaired its ethics committee.
He received the Harry B. Sondheim Professional Responsibility Award Sept. 15 at the California Lawyers Association Annual Meeting in San Diego.
