RALEIGH, NC—Whitley Law Firm’s Ben Whitley has been named to the 2023 class of Compassionate Counsel honorees. In its inaugural year, this distinction is awarded annually by The Milestone Charitable Foundation to a select group of trial lawyers across the country who are innovative in their pursuit of justice.
Compassionate Counsel recipients are selected by The Milestone Foundation’s board for their unwavering commitment to the tenets of the Seventh Amendment and belief in the fundamental right to justice. These trial lawyers work tirelessly to help victims of civil injustices receive their rightful compensation and avoid additional harm or trauma throughout the course of their lawsuit. They see their clients as worthy of respect, see access to fair funding and financial support as a right and look out for their clients’ well-being well beyond settlement.
Throughout Whitley’s career as a personal injury attorney in North Carolina, he has not only protected and advocated for his clients throughout the course of litigation, but he has also provided them with the resources needed beyond their case as a result of their injury. His reflection of “wholehearted care” can be seen outside the courtroom, as well, as Whitley is passionate about serving within his community.
In addition to Whitley, the 2023 class of Compassionate Counsel honorees includes Kim Dougherty of Justice Law Collaborative, LLC, Anna Rol of Baron & Budd, P.C. and Ellen Relkin of Weitz & Luxenberg, P.C.
Awardees were honored at a ceremony Sunday, January 22, 2023, in Miami.
