Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale P.C. is pleased to announce that Todd D. Parkhurst, an attorney in the firm’s Chicago office, has received the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award from the publisher of the Who’s Who biographical profiles.
Named after Who’s Who founder Marquis, the award recognizes honorees’ achievements, leadership qualities, credentials and successes in their field.

Serving as Of Counsel and a member of Greensfelder’s Intellectual Property (IP) practice group, Parkhurst has more than four decades of experience in litigation, transactions and counseling in patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret law.
Parkhurst has handled IP litigation involving computer software, video games, hand and machine tools, electronic lighting controls and numerous other devices. He also has handled copyright infringement lawsuits related to games, books, financial transactions software and illegal movie downloads. Mr. Parkhurst also has registered hundreds of trademarks and prepared numerous use and infringement opinions. In addition, he has prosecuted hundreds of patent applications and handled all subsequent solicitation activity in areas including hand tools, data processing software, railroad cars, pinball games, long distance pneumatic transfer systems, neutron generators, cryogenic particle sorting equipment and sophisticated machine tools, agricultural equipment and medical devices.
Previously, Parkhurst was a partner with Hughes Socol Piers Resnick & Dym, Ltd. He also was the creator and head of the IP practices in Chicago at Jenner & Block, Schiff Hardin and Holland & Knight LLP.
Parkhurst has been an IP law leader through his affiliation with numerous professional organizations including the American Bar Association, the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago, the Licensing Executives Society, and the Chicago Bar Association. He has served as a mediator in private practice concerning IP and other areas, and he was a hearing officer for the Illinois Pollution Control Board.
Parkhurst earned his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and his Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
