MIAMI, FL—U.S. Department of Justice trial attorney Zana M. Scarlett has joined Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP as a member of the Financial Institutions, Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Group. She is an experienced civil litigator with a background in commercial transactions and a deep knowledge of bankruptcy, financial restructuring, and creditors’ rights.
She spent more than a decade as a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice, where she managed and monitored chapter 7 and 11 cases. She spent two years detailed to the Executive Office for U.S. Trustees in Washington, D.C. for a special litigation team charged with identifying, investigating, preparing, and litigating cases in multiple federal districts nationwide. She also has worked as a litigator and bankruptcy attorney at private firms in Miami and New York.
She earned her JD in 2000 from Duke University Law School and a B.Sc. in Management Science (Finance) with Concentration in Spanish in 1996 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
