Meet Bernard Layne III
Bernard “Bernie” Layne III is a personal injury attorney and partner at Mani Ellis & Layne Accident & Injury Lawyers, where he represents individuals and families throughout West Virginia and Ohio. Licensed to practice in both states, Layne has spent his legal career advocating for people injured because of negligence, unsafe working conditions, medical errors, defective products, and serious motor vehicle accidents.
A West Virginia native, Layne earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Charleston, a master’s degree in sociology from Ohio University, and his Juris Doctor from the University of Dayton School of Law. His professional background includes handling complex personal injury and wrongful death matters involving catastrophic injuries, workplace accidents, medical malpractice, product liability, and other high-stakes claims.
Layne has also held prominent leadership roles within the legal community, including serving as president of the West Virginia Association for Justice. His professional recognition includes an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell and selection to Super Lawyers.
