Meet Catherine D. Meehan
Catherine “Catie” D. Meehan is a dedicated Partner at the Steinberg Law Firm, where she combines her medical and legal backgrounds to advocate for clients who have suffered injuries in various circumstances. Catie’s journey into law is rooted in her robust healthcare experience. She earned her B.S. in Nursing from the Medical University of South Carolina and spent three impactful years as a pediatric nurse at MUSC Children’s Hospital. This firsthand experience in healthcare equips Catie with a profound understanding of her clients’ medical issues, injuries, treatment, and healing processes.
Before transitioning to law, Catie obtained her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Notre Dame and later graduated magna cum laude from the Charleston School of Law. Her commitment to professionalism in advocacy was recognized during law school, where she received the Founder's Award and served as the Student Works Editor of the Charleston Law Review. Catie has also contributed to legal scholarship with published articles exploring human tissue property rights and NFL concussion litigation.
Since joining the Steinberg Law Firm in 2013, Catie has passionately advocated for individuals injured at work or in their daily lives. Her clients value her transparent communication style and her ability to set realistic expectations. She serves on the Board of Directors for Kids' Chance of South Carolina, the Alumni Board of the Charleston School of Law, and the MUSC College of Nursing Board. Additionally, she is a member of the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, Junior League of Charleston, and the South Carolina Bar Association, including its Young Lawyers Division.
