Meet Dale Galipo
Dale K. Galipo is the founder and principal of the Law Offices of Dale K. Galipo in Los Angeles, California. Born and raised in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio, he earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, before completing his J.D. at UCLA School of Law in 1984.
Mr. Galipo established his own law firm in 1991 and quickly built a strong reputation through his work in personal injury, criminal defense, and civil rights litigation. In the 1990s, he became known for securing repeated jury acquittals in major felony cases, earning the nickname “The Strikes Man” from the legal press for his success under California’s “three-strikes” law.
Beginning in 2002, Mr. Galipo concentrated his practice almost exclusively on civil rights cases involving police misconduct and police shootings. Over the past two decades, he has achieved more than 100 seven-figure verdicts and settlements and has prevailed in over 100 jury trials. His cases frequently involve excessive force, wrongful arrest, in-custody deaths, denial of medical care, and other forms of police abuse and has become the elite police misconduct lawyer in California.
Mr. Galipo’s work has been widely recognized throughout the legal community. In 2020, he received both the CAALA Trial Lawyer of the Year award and the CAOC Consumer Attorney of the Year award. In recent years, he has been repeatedly named among the top plaintiffs’ lawyers in the state and was honored with the CLAY Award by California Lawyer magazine in 2024.
He is a longtime member of the prestigious Inner Circle of Advocates and a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers — distinctions reserved for the nation’s most accomplished trial attorneys.
Widely regarded as one of the leading civil rights trial lawyers in the United States, Dale K. Galipo is known for his exceptional courtroom advocacy, unwavering commitment to justice, and relentless pursuit of accountability in cases involving police misconduct and civil rights violations.
