Meet Dan Caplis
Dan Caplis is a prominent Denver-area personal injury and wrongful death attorney with over 40 years of experience. He has been practicing law since 1983 and is the founding partner of Dan Caplis Law. A graduate of the University of Colorado, where he served as student body president and was named the National Evans Scholar of the Year, Caplis began his career with a trial in his very first year out of law school, a complex three-week medical malpractice jury trial involving catastrophic injuries to young children, which inspired him to devote his career to representing people whose lives had been devastated by the negligence of others.
He is the only lawyer in Colorado history to win five straight multi-million dollar jury verdicts in Colorado crash cases, and he won the largest truck crash jury verdict in Colorado history, a $26.6 million award after the insurance company had offered just $2 million. His firm also secured a record $205 million jury verdict in a Colorado wrongful death case.
Beyond the courtroom, Caplis is a nationally known legal analyst and the host of a daily syndicated talk show broadcast on the iHeart Radio network. His legal commentary has been featured on Fox News, CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC, and the BBC, and has been quoted in outlets such as the Washington Post, Time Magazine, and the New York Times. He was named one of the "25 Most Powerful People in Denver" by 5280 Magazine, has been honored as Humanitarian of the Year, and serves on the Board of Directors of Catholic Charities
