Meet Daniel J. McDevitt
Daniel J. McDevitt has spent his entire 30-year career representing people who were seriously injured or lost a loved one because of someone else's negligence. A founding partner of McDevitt & Cobb, P.C., Dan has resolved a wide range of personal injury claims through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and trial, including car, truck, and motorcycle accidents, construction accidents, premises liability, medical negligence, carbon monoxide poisoning, and dram shop claims against establishments that overserved intoxicated drivers. He is licensed to practice in both Illinois and Wisconsin.
Dan's results include a $15,125,000 settlement for a motorcycle rider who suffered incomplete paraplegia in a construction zone accident, $10,500,000 for a client who suffered a traumatic brain injury in a car accident, a $3,450,000 settlement for a client who lost vision due to a surgical error, and a $2,700,000 carbon monoxide poisoning settlement in Cook County. His track record has earned him membership in the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, a Super Lawyers designation every year since 2016, an Avvo rating of 10.0 Superb, and Martindale-Hubbell's AV-Preeminent peer rating every year since 2013, an honor given to fewer than 5% of attorneys nationwide. He has also taught Trial Advocacy at the University of Illinois Chicago, training the next generation of trial lawyers.
Above all, Dan believes accessibility is what most distinguishes him from his peers. He makes a point of being available and responsive, encourages clients to call with any question about their case, and keeps them informed at every step. That personal attention comes with real peace of mind: there is no retainer and no cost unless he wins, case evaluations are free, and Dan and his team handle every aspect of the claim so clients can focus on their health and recovery.
