David Goldberg

David Goldberg is the principal attorney of The Goldberg Legal Group, an Orange County family law firm based in Irvine, California. Admitted to the California bar in 2001, he has built a practice centered on divorce and family law, where he is known for being both aggressive and detail-oriented on behalf of his clients. He works directly with the people he represents, an approach the firm emphasizes as a deliberate alternative to handing clients off to legal aides.

 
David did not begin his career in family law. His early years were spent as a personal injury attorney, handling insurance defense and civil litigation, and it was that work that ultimately drew him toward family law. He has said the appeal of the field lies partly in its breadth: divorce and family matters let him draw on other areas of law he studied and practiced, including property, real estate, tax, and contract law, and apply them to issues like custody, support, fiduciary duty, discovery, mediation, and settlement negotiation. 

Today David concentrates much of his work on high-asset and complex divorce cases, representing clients with complicated marital estates and difficult business issues at stake. His varied legal background gives him added perspective in heavily contested matters where a great deal is on the line. He earned his bachelor's degree in political science from the University of California, Riverside, and his Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law, and he is admitted to practice before the California Supreme Court and the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. 

An active member of the legal community, David belongs to the Orange County Bar Association and its Family Law Section, the American Bar Association and its Family Law Section, the Orange County Jewish Bar Association, and the State Bar of California. Earlier in his career, he practiced with the firms Stegmeier and Gelbart, LLP and Burch and Coulston. He carries a strong peer and client reputation, reflected in his high Avvo rating and Clients' Choice recognition, and he serves clients from the firm's Irvine and Newport Beach offices throughout Orange County.
