Meet Jamie M. Trapp
Jamie M. Trapp was born and raised in a blue-collar, working-class neighborhood of Chicago, where he attended high school before earning his law degree from DePaul University College of Law. Since 1981, Mr. Trapp has concentrated his practice on representing people who have been seriously injured due to the negligence of another, handling cases throughout the State of Illinois involving car accidents, construction site negligence, medical malpractice, unsafe products, and other serious incidents. Within five years of graduating from law school, he had already obtained verdicts and settlements widely reported in Chicago and national news publications. His recent results include a $12,000,000 settlement on behalf of a newborn injured when a hospital administered Pitocin during labor in violation of its own safety policies, providing lifelong care for the child and family; an $8,000,000 settlement negotiated during trial for a woman given the wrong medication in a hospital emergency room; and a $10,000,000 settlement reached with a hospital and physician at the start of trial for injuries to a newborn.
Mr. Trapp's professional accomplishments have earned him widespread recognition from his peers and the legal community. He has served as seminar planning Chairman for the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, which provides continuing legal education to attorneys across the state, and received the organization's President's Award in recognition of his service. He is also the editor of "Automobile Litigation in Illinois." Every year since 2005, Mr. Trapp has been named an Illinois Super Lawyer®, a distinction reserved for the top 5% of Illinois attorneys in personal injury law, and he is recognized by Leading Lawyers as a top Illinois personal injury attorney—an honor awarded by his peers. In addition, he holds the AV Preeminent® rating from Martindale-Hubbell®, the highest possible rating an attorney can achieve for legal ability and adherence to the highest standards of professional conduct.
