Meet Jessica R. Underwood

Jessica R. Underwood is a Senior Trial Attorney at Wirtz Law APC. She focuses her practice on defending customers in matters involving California lemon laws. She is heavily involved in all phases of trial preparation and has served as second chair in multiple lemon law jury trials. Additionally, she has successfully handled hundreds of claims for California consumers. Ms. Underwood vigorously defends her clients in hearings, settlement discussions, and depositions across California state and federal courts.

Ms. Underwood graduated from Whittier College in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in literary visual narrative and applied political philosophy, two majors she had created on her own through the Whittier Scholars Program. In May 2015, Ms. Underwood received her law degree from the University of San Diego.

Before coming to Wirtz Law in the spring of 2017, Ms. Underwood was a trial lawyer in Juvenile Dependency Court, handling almost 150 cases and defending clients from the time of filing to the completion of the trial. In the past, she was also an associate in a civil litigation firm that focused on education, employment, and labor law.
