Jethro Busch

Jethro Busch serves as Senior Counsel at LDY Law, where he adds substantial depth to the firm’s ability to handle high-stakes real estate and landlord-side litigation. His practice focuses on landlord defense matters without insurance coverage, partition actions, buyer-seller disputes, and other real estate conflicts that often grow out of landlord-tenant issues but extend well beyond a routine tenancy dispute. His role strengthens the firm’s bench for the ownership, sale, and litigation matters that can quickly become complex and consequential for landlords, property owners, and referral partners.

Jethro brings decades of experience to this work and is especially valuable in matters that require seasoned litigation judgment. When a dispute moves beyond a narrow unlawful detainer issue or develops into a broader ownership or defense problem, clients often need counsel with the perspective to assess exposure, frame the dispute clearly, and pursue a disciplined path toward resolution. Jethro’s background helps provide that depth.

He earned his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley in 1978 and his J.D. from Tulane Law School in 1981. He is admitted to practice in California, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Over the course of his career, he has also contributed significantly to the development of real property law through leadership and professional service. He held roles within the Real Property Law Section of the State Bar of California, including service on its Executive Committee and as Co-Chair of the Landlord-Tenant Sub-Section.

Jethro has been recognized by Northern California Super Lawyers and has built a long record of involvement in professional education. He has spoken on issues such as habitability, tenancy notices, unfair business practice litigation, foreclosure-related issues, code enforcement problems, and other landlord-tenant and real estate topics. He has also written on subjects including wrongful eviction litigation, tenancy notices, and fair housing issues, contributing to professional understanding of the field over many years.
