John Eddie Williams, Jr.

John Eddie Williams, Jr. is a Houston personal injury trial lawyer and the founder of Williams Hart & Boundas, LLP, located at 8441 Gulf Freeway, Suite 600, Houston, Texas. Licensed in Texas since 1978, he has been Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1982 and has tried more than 100 cases to verdict.

Mr. Williams represents people injured in car, truck, and motorcycle accidents, maritime and offshore incidents, oilfield and industrial accidents, and families bringing wrongful death claims in Houston and throughout Texas. Settlements he has secured include $14 million for a client injured in an oil and gas accident, $10 million for the family of an individual killed in a crane accident, $10 million for a family who lost a loved one in a trucking accident, and $6 million for a client burned in an industrial accident.

He is also known for complex, large-scale litigation. He was one of five attorneys retained by the State of Texas in its tobacco litigation, which the firm reports produced a $17.3 billion recovery for the state, and he has been involved in national litigation against Wyeth over Fen-Phen and Abbott Laboratories over Depakote.

Mr. Williams earned his law degree from Baylor University School of Law in 1978, graduating first in his class and serving as Editor-in-Chief of the Baylor Law Review. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Third and Fifth Circuits, and the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Texas.

His recognitions include induction into the Trial Lawyer Hall of Fame at Temple University Beasley School of Law (2018), the Texas Trial Lawyers Association Lifetime Achievement Award (2018), an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America since 2006, including Houston Lawyer of the Year for Mass Tort Litigation/Class Actions (Plaintiffs) in 2020.
