Meet Kevin Marcilliat
Kevin Marcilliat has been singularly focused on criminal defense from the very start of his career, a dedication so complete that he tried two criminal cases as a law student and won not-guilty verdicts on both. Before he had even graduated, he had interned with the largest public defender's office in North Carolina and with the Federal Public Defender for the Eastern District in Raleigh, and he was handed his first felony case in his first week of private practice.
Today, as part of Marcilliat & Mills PLLC, Kevin has handled hundreds of criminal cases across more than 60 North Carolina counties and all three of the state's federal districts. His experience spans the full range of charges, from DWI and felony drug offenses to embezzlement, assault, sex crimes, and serious federal matters, and he maintains a busy white-collar practice defending individuals and businesses against state and federal government investigations. What drives him is a conviction he takes seriously: that a defense lawyer is often the only thing standing between a client and a jail cell, and that his job is to level a playing field too often tilted against the accused.
