Richard Ewaniszyk

Richard M. Ewaniszyk is a veteran California trial attorney and the founder of Ewaniszyk Law Firm, with more than four decades of legal experience representing individuals, families, and public entities throughout the High Desert region. Admitted to practice law in 1982, he has built a long-standing career defined by extensive courtroom experience, complex litigation work, and a reputation for professional integrity among both judges and fellow attorneys.

Mr. Ewaniszyk earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Monterey College of Law and is admitted to practice in California as well as before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the United States District Court for the Central District of California. Over the course of his career, he has handled a wide range of legal matters in both state and federal courts, trying numerous cases and resolving complex disputes through litigation, negotiation, and trial advocacy.

A significant portion of Mr. Ewaniszyk’s practice has been devoted to representing victims of serious and catastrophic personal injuries. He has successfully represented hundreds of clients each year in cases involving severe harm, including spinal injuries from automobile accidents, traumatic brain injuries, burns, fractures, paralysis, and complex regional pain syndrome. His approach to these cases is highly strategic and evidence-driven, often involving collaboration with leading medical, economic, and technical experts to establish liability and fully document damages such as medical expenses, lost wages, diminished earning capacity, and pain and suffering.

In addition to his personal injury work, Mr. Ewaniszyk maintains a broad practice that includes both criminal defense and family law. He has represented clients facing a wide spectrum of criminal charges, ranging from misdemeanor offenses such as DUI and assault to serious and violent felonies, including homicide cases, while also advising and advocating for individuals and family matters like divorce, child custody, spousal support and paternity.
