Meet Samuel H. Pond
Samuel H. Pond is the Managing Partner and founding member of Pond Lehocky Giordano, one of the nation’s leading workers’ compensation and disability law firms. A native of Northeast Philadelphia, Sam’s upbringing in a working-class, union family instilled a lifelong commitment to championing injured and vulnerable workers. Early experiences as a union laborer and blue-collar worker—laying pipelines, working in printing, brewing, and food production—shaped his understanding of the challenges faced by everyday working people and set him on a path to fight for their rights.
Sam earned his finance degree from Drexel University while working nights at the Philadelphia Inquirer and went on to graduate from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 1984. In his first year of law school, he won the legal battle over his father’s union pension—a case that established precedent and foreshadowed a career defined by tenacity and groundbreaking advocacy.
Over 40 years, Sam has tried thousands of workers’ compensation cases, achieving landmark settlements and ensuring injured workers and their families receive the benefits they are entitled to. His litigation style is informed by discipline, strategy, and a fighter’s mentality—traits he honed as an amateur boxer, training in Philadelphia gyms for decades.
Beyond the courtroom, Sam is a relentless advocate for systemic change. He has held leadership roles in the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, Pennsylvania Association for Justice, and Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Advisory Board, among others. He also supports numerous charitable and educational initiatives, including scholarships, trial advocacy programs, and organizations serving children and underserved communities.
Sam’s personal and professional philosophy blends toughness, integrity, and empathy—ensuring Pond Lehocky Giordano is not only a powerhouse for injured workers but also a firm built on values, resilience, and the lessons of a life rooted in hard work and service to others.
