Meet Scott Staples
Scott A. Staples is a seasoned personal injury attorney and partner at Schauermann Thayer, where his practice is devoted to securing justice and full compensation for individuals and families harmed by serious accidents and negligent conduct in Washington and Oregon. With more than a decade of courtroom experience, Scott focuses on complex injury matters arising from motor vehicle collisions and catastrophic incidents that result in wrongful death.
Throughout his legal career, Scott has built a reputation as a tenacious advocate for plaintiffs injured in a wide range of traffic-related accidents — including car, truck, and motorcycle collisions — where negligent drivers, unsafe conditions, and insurance disputes have caused profound loss. He applies meticulous investigation and evidence-driven legal strategy to every case, whether negotiating aggressively with insurance carriers or presenting compelling arguments at trial on behalf of his clients.
Scott’s commitment to accident victims extends to wrongful death litigation, where he represents surviving family members seeking accountability and meaningful compensation after the tragic loss of a loved one. His work in these deeply impactful cases reflects both legal rigor and a sensitive understanding of the emotional and financial devastation that follows fatal crashes.
Since joining the firm as a law clerk during his law school years, Scott has gained extensive litigation experience handling personal injury and death claims across Washington and Oregon. He regularly appears in state and federal courts, advocating for clients’ rights to fair outcomes and maximum recovery. He has also been involved in precedent-setting matters, including an appearance and a favorable ruling before the Washington State Supreme Court.
Scott holds a Juris Doctor degree with honors from Willamette University College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in English, cum laude, from Washington State University Vancouver. He is admitted to practice in all Washington state and federal courts and is active in professional associations dedicated to advancing the interests of injury victims and enhancing trial practice standards.
Outside of legal practice, Scott remains committed to community service and volunteers his time to local justice projects, supporting access to legal resources for underserved individuals.
