Shawn graduated Cum Laude from Central Michigan University with a criminal justice-based Sociology degree before earning his Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. Beyond the courtroom, he serves as National Director of Crisis Management for Phi Sigma Phi National Fraternity Inc., and lends his experience to several non-profit boards dedicated to serving others.

Outside of the office, Shawn enjoys traveling to new vacation spots and restaurants with his wife, children, and close friends.
