Steven Hilst

Steven Hilst is a partner and trial lawyer with Bisnar Chase serving Orange County, Los Angeles, Inland Empire, and San Diego area.

For nearly a decade, he has worked with the Bisnar Chase team to represent those severely injured in accidents or the families of those tragically lost.

In law school, Steven worked for a firm representing businesses and corporations. It didn’t take long to realize this wasn’t the right path for him. He thrives on one-on-one interactions with his clients and the opportunity to work with them to put their lives back together. 

“In personal injury law, you see first-hand how you’ve helped someone and how that has helped turn their life around,” Steven says. “By representing injured plaintiffs, I’m helping them seek justice and obtain justice and fair compensation.”

Steven has been recognized for his work as a Top 25 Products Liability Trial Lawyer and as a Top 25 Brain Injury Trial Lawyer by the National Trial Lawyers. And, in 2024, he was named a Lawyer of Distinction and recognized by Super Lawyers. He is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, the American Board of Trial Advocates, the American Inns of Court, and served as the first president of the Carlos Moreno Trial Practice Inn of Court. 

Steven approaches each case competitively – he looks at the big picture and focuses on strategy. He prepares each case as if it were going to trial. And he doesn’t hesitate to take a case to trial when it’s in the best interest of his clients.

Steven has secured several multimillion-dollar verdicts, including a $12.2 million result for an auto defect case; a $5.8 million result for a side airbag failure case; a $5.5 million result for a seatback failure; and a $5.4 million result for a pedestrian vs. car case. 

Outside of work, Steven enjoys relaxing on the beach and rooting for USC football.
