T. Luke Abel

T. Luke Abel is an Oklahoma City personal injury trial lawyer and the owner of Abel Law Firm, located at 900 NE 63rd Street, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, with a second office in Tulsa. He joined the firm founded by his father, Ed Abel, in 2006, the same year he earned his J.D. from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. He also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Oklahoma.

Mr. Abel represents people injured in car and truck accidents, oil and gas field accidents, and by defective products, as well as families pursuing wrongful death claims across Oklahoma. He is admitted to all Oklahoma state courts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, and the U.S. District Courts for the Western, Eastern, and Northern Districts of Oklahoma.

Two of his cases produced Oklahoma Supreme Court rulings. In Beason v. IE Miller Services, Inc. (2019 OK 28), he obtained a $15,000,000 jury verdict for an oil field worker, and the Oklahoma Supreme Court reinstated the full judgment after finding the state's cap on noneconomic damages unconstitutional. In Strickland v. Stephens Production Co. (2018 OK 6), the court found a provision of Title 85A unconstitutional. He also secured a $5,200,000 jury verdict in the wrongful death case Freeman v. Robbins Motorsports in McCurtain County. Other firm recoveries include $12,800,000 in a product liability case involving a defective Black & Decker product and $5,280,000 in a double-fatality wrongful death case.

Mr. Abel served as President of the Oklahoma Association for Justice in 2021. He has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America since 2020 for Personal Injury Litigation and Product Liability Litigation (Plaintiffs), selected to Super Lawyers from 2020 through 2026, and holds an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell and a 10.0 Superb Avvo rating. He volunteers as an attorney with Oklahoma Lawyers for Children.
