Meet Thomas M. White
Thomas M. White is a Partner at the Steinberg Law Firm, where he has dedicated over four decades of legal service to advocating for injured workers throughout South Carolina. His commitment to justice is deeply rooted in his early experiences working third shift in the cotton mills of South Carolina's Upstate, where he witnessed firsthand the challenges laborers face. Tom graduated with distinction from the University of Virginia and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1977, graduating at the top of his class. He began his legal career as a public defender before joining the Steinberg Law Firm in 1980, where he has focused on workers' compensation cases and social security disability ever since. His unwavering dedication to securing the best possible medical care and financial support for his clients has resulted in numerous settlements in the millions.
Tom has received widespread recognition for his legal excellence. He has been consistently listed in Best Lawyers in America for Workers’ Compensation Law – Claimants from 2007 to 2025 and has been named "Lawyer of the Year" in this category in 2011, 2013, 2016, 2020, and 2025.
