Meet Tom L. Culpepper
Tom Culpepper is an Ohio estate planning and elder law attorney and the founder of Culpepper Law, LLC. He builds the plans families postpone: wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives, Ohio transfer on death deeds, and gun and pet trusts. For clients facing the cost of aging, he handles Medicaid asset protection trusts, Medicaid applications, long-term care planning, VA Aid and Attendance benefits and guardianships. When a death has already occurred, he guides families through probate and trust administration.
Tom came to the law mid-career, after spending the first half of his working life in non-profit ministry, and earned his degree at the University of Dayton School of Law. He then served five years as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, handling juvenile matters, securing child support for minors and protecting children from abuse and neglect. He founded Culpepper Law, LLC, in 2011 and has since narrowed his practice entirely to estate planning, estate administration, elder law, and business formation and succession.
That background shows in how he works. Most clients arrive during a transition — a diagnosis, a parent moving into care, a business owner thinking about what comes next — and the document is rarely the hardest part of the conversation. Outside the office, Tom spends his time with his wife, Wendi, and their three children. A former college baseball player, he has taken up golf and reports that the two swings have nothing in common.
