Meet Zachary S. Bartman
Zachary S. Bartman, Esq. is a Partner at Cooper Family Law, where he represents clients in divorce, custody, support, and Protection From Abuse (PFA) matters across Philadelphia and surrounding counties. Known for his empathetic approach and tireless advocacy, Zach is deeply committed to helping individuals and families navigate some of the most challenging times in their lives with clarity, dignity, and effective legal strategy.
Zach has quickly distinguished himself in the field of family law through his results-driven work and client-centered philosophy. He has been selected as Super Lawyers Rising Stars from 2023 to 2025, an honor awarded to just 2.5% of attorneys in Pennsylvania under the age of 40. He also received the Avvo “Client’s Choice” Award in both 2023 and 2024, reflecting consistent five-star ratings and praise from the families he has helped.
Before joining Cooper Family Law, Zach was a litigation associate at a well-respected Pennsylvania firm, where he developed his skills in complex civil matters. Ultimately, his passion for working with families led him to focus exclusively on family law.
Zach brings courtroom experience, negotiation skills, and emotional intelligence to every case, whether he's representing clients in high-conflict custody trials or negotiating support agreements. His practice is built on communication, responsiveness, and a deep understanding of the law’s impact on daily life.
A graduate of Washington and Lee University School of Law, Zach provided over 900 hours of pro bono legal services during his time there, representing underserved individuals in trials and hearings as a certified legal intern. He earned his undergraduate degree cum laude from Gettysburg College, where he double majored in Business and Political Science and served as president of the mock trial team.
Zach is an active member of the American, Pennsylvania, and Philadelphia Bar Associations, as well as the Montgomery County Bar Association and the Nicholas A. Cipriani American Inn of Court, reflecting his ongoing commitment to the legal profession.
In 2025, Cooper Family Law was honored with the Gold Award in Divorce Law by The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Philly Favorites, a recognition that reflects the firm’s and Zach’s dedication to outstanding client service and trusted legal counsel.
