Meet William Mattar
New York personal injury lawyer William Mattar's desire to become an attorney was sparked at a young age. Growing up in western New York, he watched his father practice law and witnessed firsthand the impact legal advocacy could have on people’s lives. Inspired by his father’s dedication, William set his sights on a legal career early on.
By the time he was in high school, he had already decided that becoming a lawyer was his calling. As he pursued his college education, he remained committed to turning that dream into reality.
Establishing a Legal Legacy
William earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh (SUNY Plattsburgh) in 1986, followed by his Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law in 1988.
After gaining experience at another law firm, he took the leap and founded William Mattar Law Offices in 1990 in Williamsville, New York. Initially handling a range of legal matters, the firm later honed its focus exclusively on motor vehicle accident cases. Over the years, William Mattar Law Offices has grown significantly, expanding into a dedicated office building in Williamsville with additional intake locations in Albany, Rochester, Syracuse, New York City, and Long Island.
A Commitment to Community and Service
William's dedication to helping others extends beyond his legal work. His firm actively supports various charitable organizations, and he has a long history of community involvement. An Eagle Scout himself, he has remained engaged with the Boy Scouts of America, serving as a leader in the Greater Niagara Frontier Council. Since 2002, he has also chaired the Boy Scouts’ annual fundraising dinner, helping to support programs that benefit over 10,000 children.
Beyond scouting, William is deeply involved in his church and has served as president and leader of multiple community organizations. In his free time, he enjoys spending quality time with his wife and children, cooking, hiking, and continuing his involvement with the Boy Scouts—especially alongside his sons, who have followed in his footsteps to become Eagle Scouts.
