About Jason Marcus
Jason Marcus has worked almost solely with whistleblowers and the False Claims Act since 2008. He takes huge pride in the fact that in every case, he has the privilege of working for the “good guys” – whistleblowers who believe that not anything is more important than integrity – and assisting the United States dispense justice against cheats and frauds.
For as long as he can recall, Jason knew he would be an attorney (other than a time in the fourth grade when he briefly considered dermatology). He graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law, cum laude, as the youngest person of the Class of 2006. While at UGA, on top of indulging in his love of college football, Jason worked as Notes Editor for the school’s Journal of Intellectual Property Law and as President of the Sports & Entertainment Law Society. Prior to law school, Jason recieved his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Tulane University after only two years in New Orleans, majoring in Political Economics and minoring in English.
Following law school, Jason worked as law clerk for the honorable Magistrate Judge G.R. Smith of the Southern District of Georgia. He completed his term at the federal courthouse in Savannah, Georgia, where he earned an invaluable education that can happen only from working for a respected federal judge. Jason then came back to metro Atlanta to work for a small practice, obtaining experience in the courtroom litigating civil cases, as well as practicing criminal and family law.
In 2008, Jason was recruited to enter a False Claims Act litigation boutique, where he worked closely with the firm’s namesake and his future partner – Julie Bracker. After eight years of working with each other as a dynamic and nationally-recognized team in the qui tam arena, Jason and Julie partnered to open Bracker & Marcus LLC in January 2015.
Jason was named one of Georgia’s Top Rated Lawyers by Legal Leaders, is yearly selected as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers Magazine, and retains the highest ratings of AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell and 10.0 by Avvo. He is a Board Member for the Qui Tam Section of the Federal Bar Association, and the founder of the Young Lawyers Division for the Taxpayers Against Fraud Education Fund.
Jason grew up in the Atlanta area and so is enthusiastic about improving his local community. Jason’s charitable ventures include performing pro bono work for the Georgia Appleseed Center for Law & Justice and Southern Center for Human Rights, being a member of Keep Roswell Beautiful, and raising thousands of dollars for childhood cancer research by shaving his head with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
