PARSIPPANY, NJ—Day Pitney LLP announced that the firm has named James M. Leva and Amanda M. Curley as chair and vice-chair of the firm’s Cannabis practice group. In these leadership roles, Leva and Curley will direct and oversee strategic initiatives and legal work for cannabis industry clients and corporate clients seeking legal advice on various cannabis-related matters.
Leva and Curley will draw on the experience of approximately ten attorneys from a range of practices and disciplines across the firm to collectively advise a diverse group of clients nationwide to implement innovative solutions into this complex regulatory landscape. With extensive knowledge of the regulatory environment from multiple angles, the firm’s multidisciplinary cannabis team handles issues related to corporate formation, real estate leases, land use, employment, banking and finance, government regulation and enforcement, healthcare and life sciences, intellectual property, and energy and utilities. The team provides comprehensive legal advice and counsel to clients throughout the value chain, from formation to divestiture.
