CHICAGO, IL—Effective today, October 1, Catherine Steege, Co-Chair of Jenner & Block’s Bankruptcy and Restructuring Practice, begins a three-year term on the Judicial Conference Advisory Committee on Bankruptcy Rules following her appointment by Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr. earlier this year. I wanted to share the news in case it’s of interest for any upcoming newsletters, roundups, or personnel coverage. The Advisory Committee plays a key role in evaluating and recommending changes to the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure, which govern bankruptcy proceedings nationwide.
Cathy is a nationally recognized bankruptcy practitioner who represents committees, debtors, creditors, trustees, examiners, and other stakeholders in complex chapter 11 matters and related litigation. She successfully argued Wellness International Network, Ltd. v. Sharif before the U.S. Supreme Court and has argued more than 15 bankruptcy-related appeals in federal appellate courts across the country.
