Jobin Law, PLLC: A Universal Approach to Personal Injury

A good friend of mine said I could visit with the Queen of England and a homeless person in the same day and be just as comfortable with one as the other,” says Lauren V. Jobin, founder and managing attorney of Jobin Law, PLLC.

Jobin Law, PLLC is focused 100 percent on representing people who have been injured due to another party’s negligence. Jobin Law, PLLC’s logo pays homage to her roots in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Jobin credits her ease in communicating with people of widely diverse backgrounds and cultures to her experiences as a world-traveling youngster. Her mother is from Aberdeen, Scotland, where Jobin was born. She has lived in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, and Venezuela. She moved back to the United States in eighth grade.

“It’s given me a greater appreciation for other cultures and worldviews that helps me connect with my clients,” she says. “It’s made me more compassionate and understanding of the different backgrounds of my clients so we can establish a relationship of trust. Clients don’t see me as just their lawyer. Because I’ve traveled and started at new schools so frequently, I had to meet new people and make new friends. Those experiences allow me to quickly relate to anybody. Clients soon look at me as both their advocate and their friend.”

Jobin founded her firm in February and is already heavily involved in more than 20 cases and is building a successful profile as a solo practitioner in Dallas. She is active in the legal community, serving on the board of directors of the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association and Texas Trial Lawyers Association since 2018.

Jobin says she never necessarily had one of those aha moments where a flash of insight was followed by a drive to be an attorney. Jobin says that becoming an attorney was a logical decision.  She was attending Southern Methodist University where she minored in philosophy which exposed her to courses on the philosophy of law. Ultimately, this drove her to take the LSAT and she found an unexpected career path.

“For me, becoming an attorney involved identifying my strengths and passions, and finding a profession that would allow me to be both challenged and successful. More importantly, it involved finding a career that allowed me to help others in a profound way. I have always been a linear thinker, which enables me to apply my critical thinking skills to effectively litigate complex cases. My approach to life decisions has always been based in logic. My approach to running my own law practice is no different. Starting my own firm was undoubtedly the most logical next step in my career. I have worked with exceptional attorneys in my 10 years practicing law and I decided that it was time for me to step out on my own, be independent, and create something that was mine. The timing felt right, so I took the leap.”

She embraces the emotional side of personal injury cases and telling her client’s stories in an impactful way. She ensures that those feelings and human losses are revealed in trial and throughout the litigation process. “Regardless of the complexities of each individual case, my primary consideration is my client, and being their pillar of strength in their time of need. My life experiences have shaped who I am as a person – and as a lawyer – so I can be my client’s warrior and advocate when navigating complex and emotional legal situations.”

Jobin earned her Bachelor of Arts in international studies from Southern Methodist University in 2008 and her Juris Doctorate from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2011. She is licensed to practice in both Texas and Louisiana.

“Everybody is from different places, but we all deserve equal justice under the law. That’s why I’m here, and that’s why I do what I do.” she says.
