We have opportunities to tell your story in a feature story or share your knowledge in an op-ed style article. We look forward to highlighting lawyers from across the country who have forged their own path.

In 2025, we had the honor to share some of the legal legacy stories of generations of attorneys practicing across the country (Check out that issue). This year, we’re flipping the script to share the stories of those attorneys who are the first in their family to build a legal career.

Feature Stories

One lawyer will be selected as the cover of the 2026 First Gen Lawyers Special Issue. The featured attorney needs to have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the legal industry. Special consideration will be given to those lawyers who hold a leadership position within their firm as well as those who have made a mark in the wider legal community.

Inside the issue, we will feature a selection of first generation lawyers from across the nation. The stories will seek to highlight the standout practitioners and the journeys that brought them to where they are today. All featured professionals will receive the 2026 First Gen Lawyer badge.

Special Section

Beyond our in-depth stories with lawyers nationwide, the issue will include a special section highlighting the struggles and victories of first generation lawyers. Each lawyer will submit a short first-person narrative between 50 and 200 words along with a professional headshot to accompany their submission.
