Tanner Williams and Tyler Yoho: The New Generation of Lawyers

“You can call us anytime. Tyler and I left the big firms to create a practice where clients aren’t just case numbers—they’re real people with real needs. We make sure they never get lost in the shuffle,” says Tanner Williams, founding partner of Williams & Yoho, P.A.

Tyler Yoho, co-founding partner, echoes that commitment to personal service. “Being a smaller firm is an advantage. Our clients get direct, one-on-one service, and they get it fast. Tanner and I can make decisions in five seconds—something the big firms just can’t do.”

Williams and Yoho met on their first day of law school and quickly became friends. After gaining experience in different legal settings, they realized the best way to serve their clients—often in the most traumatic moments of their lives—was to build their own firm. In 2021, they founded Williams & Yoho, P.A.

A Balanced Partnership

Each partner brings distinct strengths that have fueled the firm’s rapid success. Yoho describes himself as a go-getter who thrives on taking swift, decisive action. “I like to push forward and keep things moving,” he says. Williams, on the other hand, provides the steady hand. “Tanner ensures every detail is accounted for, making sure all the T’s are crossed and the I’s are dotted. That balance has been key to our growth,” Yoho says.

While they take on cases across Florida, Williams & Yoho focuses on serving the communities they call home in Clay County, including Orange Park, Middleburg, Fleming Island, Green Cove Springs, Oakleaf Plantation, and Keystone Heights. Their firm provides aggressive representation for personal injury victims in these areas, ensuring that residents receive the justice they deserve.

Additionally, each attorney is licensed to practice in all Florida state courts and federal courts, allowing them to advocate for clients at every level, from local disputes to complex federal litigation.

Fighting for Justice

A recent case illustrates the firm’s commitment to its clients. A driver was rear-ended by another motorist with only $10,000 in insurance coverage and was forced to battle their own insurance company for compensation under their uninsured motorist policy. The insurer fought every step of the way, hiring high-paid experts to downplay the severity of the injuries.

“The insurance company initially offered just $7,500, essentially dismissing our client’s suffering. We fought back and secured a $2.6 million verdict,” Yoho says.

For Williams, results like these are what drive him. “Seeing a client finally get the justice they deserve after being pushed around by insurance companies, that’s what makes all the hard work and long hours’ worth it.

A Partnership Rooted in Friendship

The partners say one of their greatest strengths is avoiding the “echo chamber” that can exist in large firms. “We challenge each other’s ideas. Sometimes fiercely, but never in anger. We aren’t stuck doing things a certain way just because ‘that’s how it’s always been done.’ We’re constantly adapting, and that benefits our clients,” Yoho says.

Their dynamic is built on mutual respect and a shared belief that growth comes from diverse perspectives. Williams says, “In business, and in life, you don’t grow if you only surround yourself with people who think exactly like you.”

From Zero to Verdict

Williams, an Orange Park native, earned his political science degree from the University of Alabama before obtaining his Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2018, where he was awarded Pro Bono Honors for his service to the community. Before co-founding Williams & Yoho, he focused on civil justice and personal injury litigation.

Yoho, raised in Gainesville, graduated from the Uniwversity of Central Florida with a degree in legal studies before earning his Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal in 2018. He previously worked as a personal injury attorney at one of Clay County’s largest firms.

Ironically, when they met on their first day of law school, neither Williams nor Yoho had any intention of becoming personal injury lawyers. “That was the last thing on our minds. We had preconceived notions about the industry,” Yoho says.

“We didn’t want to be the stereotypical ‘ambulance chasers.’ But real-world experience changed our perspective,” Williams says.

That willingness to take on challenges defined their early years as trial attorneys. When they formed their partnership, neither had ever tried a case.

“We had to learn everything from zero to verdict. Some colleagues told us to settle the case or pass it off to more seasoned trial attorneys. But we knew our client deserved better. We fought and we won big,” Yoho says.

Building a Legacy

When meeting personal injury clients, Williams & Yoho emphasize a simple truth: physical recovery is for doctors; financial recovery is their job. “We aren’t just representing case files; we’re representing real people at some of the worst moments of their lives. That’s why they truly can call us anytime.”

Williams & Yoho, P.A. is more than just a law firm; it’s a foundation for something bigger. Instead of relying on heavy advertising, they’ve built their practice through reputation and referrals.

“If you do good work for people and treat them right, the business takes care of itself. Tanner and I are really starting to experience that firsthand. We don’t advertise heavily – more than half of our clients come from referrals by past clients and their families. What we’re doing isn’t just about cases – it’s about cementing ourselves as part of this community. We’re not just lawyers; we’re building something that will last. We’re a new generation of attorneys, and I think we’re off to a really strong start,” Yoho says.
