The Miami office is led by shareholder, Richard “Rick” Morgan, who is also a former member of the firm’s board of directors. A dedicated and focused attorney, Morgan has earned the respect of his peers. He concentrates his practice on a broad spectrum of complex litigation matters involving banking, UCC issues, regulatory matters, lender liability, fraud, defalcation and construction-defect matters. He litigates a variety of complex commercial contractual disputes.
Under his leadership, the Miami office has achieved outstanding success for a wide variety of clients. First and foremost, the Buchanan attorneys in the Miami office enjoy practicing as a collaborative team to achieve their client’s goals. With strength and experience in real estate, Morgan has led the team to excellent outcomes. In fact, the Buchanan team of Miami lawyers has been involved in many of the major real estate developments that have and will shape the Miami city skyline. By virtue of success in the courtroom, the Miami office was recognized as 2014 South Florida Litigation Department of the Year for Real Estate by the Daily Business Review.
Morgan’s commitment to the law is matched by his dedication to the South Florida community. He was a long-time member of the board of governors for the Sylvester Comprehensive Center at the University of Miami. He is also a member of the board of trustees at Wagner College and works with myriad local philanthropic organizations including Banyan Heath Systems, Habitat for Humanity, D-FY-IT and Camillus House, a full-service center that offers a continuum of care for persons who are poor and homeless. He also spent well over a decade coaching youth sports in south Miami.
Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney is consistently ranked as a top-listed firm in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, Jacksonville, Tallahassee and Fort Myers by U.S. News & World Report’s Best Law Firms list in numerous practice areas. These partnerships are developed by actively listening to clients to understand their individual goals and priorities. Then Buchanan adapts its services and forms cooperative teams to offer legal and business knowledge customized to achieve their goals.
In 2014, Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney merged with the venerable Tampa-based Fowler White Boggs law firm. By doing so, Buchanan lawyers have developed a broader geographical footprint and joined their new partners in an unwavering pledge to serve Florida clients better than ever.
Rick Morgan and the entire Miami-based team are a shining example of this.
