Marcus Augustine, Justin Brown and Andrew Shaver Join Bradley in Birmingham

Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP is pleased to announce that Marcus A. Augustine, Justin K. Brown and Andrew J. Shaver have joined the firm’s Birmingham office as attorneys.

“We are pleased to welcome Marcus, Justin and Andrew to Bradley,” said Bradley Interim Chairman of the Board and Managing Partner Dawn Helms Sharff. “Each brings diverse legal profession experiences that will enhance our bench strength across multiple, key practice areas.”

Joining Bradley’s Construction and Government Contracts Practice Group as a senior attorney, Mr. Augustine represents clients in disputes involving construction, energy and financial services matters. He handles matters for owners, general contractors and subcontractors in almost every aspect of construction projects. He also counsels clients in the drafting and negotiation of construction contracts. In addition, he has extensive experience drafting and negotiating American Institute of Architects documents and design/build and EPC contracts. Mr. Augustine also assists financial service providers in litigation, regulatory compliance and enforcement matters.

Previously, Mr. Augustine was a senior attorney for a regulated electric utility company and an associate at Sidley Austin LLP.

Mr. Augustine received his Juris Doctor from Southern University Law Center and his Bachelor of Science from Southern University.

Mr. Brown is an associate and member of Bradley’s Healthcare Practice Group. Prior to joining the firm, he was a trial attorney in the Public Defender Division for the Committee for Public Counsel Services in Boston.

Mr. Brown received his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School and his Bachelor of Science (summa cum laude) from Auburn University.

An associate and member of Bradley’s Bankruptcy, Restructuring and Distressed Investing Practice Group, Mr. Shaver represents financial institutions, secured and unsecured creditors and other interested parties in bankruptcy cases, commercial litigation and extra-judicial proceedings. His experience includes fraudulent transfer and preference actions, lender liability claims, contested bankruptcy matters, non-dischargeability actions, stay violation litigation, and state law collection and enforcement actions. In addition, Mr. Shaver has experience representing secured lenders and court-appointed receivers in receivership actions in state and federal court, as well as representing clients in commercial lease disputes, rent collection actions, and tenant bankruptcies.

Mr. Shaver received his Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts (summa cum laude) from the University of Alabama.
