Coffey Modica Launches Military Veterans Disability Benefits Practice Group

Evan-CarsonPALM BEACH GARDENS, FL—Coffey Modica LLP announced the launch of its new Veterans Disability Benefits Practice group. The firm, which typically leads and manages major corporate defense strategies, was encouraged to extend its legal advocacy to America’s great veteran community, based upon the individualized experiences of firm members, who either served, or had an immediate family member who had to overcome obstacles and bureaucracy, just to access benefits they were entitled to.

The practice team will run out of the firm’s Palm Beach Gardens office, led by Florida Managing Partner Richard A. Jarolem, together with Firmwide Managing Partner Maxwell Bottini and Founding Partner Michael Coffey. As it is important to the firm’s Veteran clients, this practice area will be specifically and primarily managed by two Florida-based attorneys who themselves are U.S. armed forces veterans —Evan Carson and Schuyler Swanton, who have proudly served in the Army and Navy, respectively.

Evan Carson serves as Counsel in the firm’s Florida office. Prior to entering private practice, he clerked for the Hon. Melanie G. May at Florida’s Fourth District Court of Appeals. Carson previously served in the U.S. Army Reserve and Florida Army National Guard, completing Airborne School and earning multiple commendations for his dedication and leadership.

Schuyler Swanton, an Associate in the Florida office served in the U.S. Navy as Master-at-Arms, where he trained and supervised security personnel, ensured compliance with military justice and training standards, and supported critical defense operations during an overseas deployment.
