Maland represents multinational corporations and high-net-worth individuals in bet-the-company litigation in state and federal court or arbitration matters in both Florida and New York. He advises Web3-oriented businesses on regulatory and litigation issues, represents federal court-appointed receivers in the prosecution and administration of their estates and assists clients with government investigations.
A thought leader in the emerging cryptocurrency sector, Maland is Chair of Crypto and Blockchain Education for The Florida Bar and serves by appointment as the Second Vice Chair of the Florida Business Law Section’s Blockchain and Digital Assets Committee.
A Blue Key graduate of the University of Florida, Maland earned his J.D. from Emory University School of Law, where he served as Notes and Comments Editor to the Emory Bankruptcy Developments Journal and earned the Dean’s Award for his work on behalf of Emory’s International Humanitarian Law Clinic.
