BRIDGEWATER, NJ—The law firm of Norris McLaughlin, P.A. is pleased to welcome Mariya Gonor as a member of the firm’s Bridgewater, New Jersey office. Gonor joins the firm’s Labor & Employment and Litigation groups.\
Gonor concentrates her practice in the areas of labor and employment, and litigation, regularly working with clients on employment issues and directing individuals and businesses on commercial litigation matters. She provides strategic counsel to clients regarding NJLAD, Wage and Hour Law, CEPA, New York Human Rights Law, and Federal Law and has conducted corporate investigations into allegations of harassment and discrimination, working alongside her clients to navigate these issues.
Additionally, Gonor handles claims under consumer protection laws, intellectual property protections, contractual disputes, insurance coverage disputes, construction matters, and antitrust actions. She has served as general counsel to several clients, advising them on corporate matters, including contracts, employment issues, leasing, applications to government entities for grants/licensure, and other issues integral to their businesses.
Gonor earned her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and her B.A. from William Paterson University. She maintains an active pro bono practice and has represented victims of domestic violence with the Partners for Women and Justice and Racheal Coalition and has also served as pro bono in-house counsel for Tri-Boro Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Gonor is a New Jersey Court Certified Mediator and is fluent in Ukrainian and Russian.
