PORTLAND, OR – Ball Janik LLP, a bi-coastal comprehensive services law firm focused on real estate, land use, construction, and business litigation, is pleased to announce that Damien R. Hall has been appointed to the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Northwest Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Taskforce, to help address systemic racism in the real estate profession. The Taskforce’s mission is to blaze a new trail for diversity, equity, and inclusion in real estate that breaks down institutional barriers to entry and advancement for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). The Taskforce has identified five areas of focus: Member Engagement, Programs, Education, Communication, and Partnerships.
Damien Hall chairs the firm’s Land Use and Real Estate Group and the Affordable Housing and Community Development Group. In this role, Hall represents both property owners and local governments, helping them navigate Oregon’s unique requirements and political sensitivities to controlled growth and land development. Hall is also active in renewable energy development throughout the Pacific Northwest and is an active member of the Oregon Solar + Storage Industries Association. In addition to his involvement in the ULI, Hall is an active member of BOMA and NAIOP. He was appointed by the Portland City Council to the Home Forward Board of Commissioners and serves on the Board of Directors for Portland Community Reinvestment Initiatives, Inc.
