Patterson + Sheridan Adds Of Counsel, Two Associates, Law Clerk and Technical Advisor

HOUSTON, TX— Patterson + Sheridan welcomed of counsel Robert Newman, lateral associate Eric Abada, first-year associate Will Corey, law clerk Mina Giurguis and technical advisor Brian Funk to the firm.

Newman holds more than two decades of experience working in intellectual property law. His core practice focuses on patent preparation and prosecution involving artificial intelligence and machine learning, complex software and information technology, electronics and semiconductor technologies, medical devices and procedures, and transportation.

Abada joins the firm’s Silicon Valley office as a lateral associate. His practice focuses on electronics and semiconductor technologies. Before joining Patterson + Sheridan, Abada practiced at a large boutique intellectual property firm, where he drafted and provided landscape, noninfringement and invalidity analyses.

Corey is a first-year associate in the firm’s Houston office who focuses his practice on electronics and semiconductor patent applications.

Giurguis is a law clerk who prepares and prosecutes patent applications for artificial intelligence and machine learning, consumer products, and medical devices and procedures.

Funk joins the firm’s Houston office as a technical advisor. He brings more than seven years of research and development laboratory experience to Patterson + Sheridan.
